"Professionals" show marking in the wood industry

Mühltal, August 15, 2022 - "Wood is a great material - affordable and now available again," says Daniel Wege (Business Development Manager at REA Elektronik) in the latest video from the Marking Professionals from REA Elektronik. Wege and Frank Debusmann (Sales Director national coding and marking systems) show how a tree is turned into a ready-to-ship material in their usual brisk style in part 1 of their "Wood Special" in the "Marking professionals on site" film series. And all dressed up: Dressed in traditional carpenter's clothing, including a gold earring, they don't go on a tour of the Ladenburger GmbH Holzwerke in Bopfingen. The resulting film entitled "Marking and labeling of construction timber" has been online since today.
Direct marking and labeling with systems from REA
Around one million cubic meters of round timber are processed at the sawmill in Bopfingen every year. It comes from sustainable cultivation. This means that every tree felled is replaced by a new plantation - and travels a maximum of 200 kilometers to the sawmill. It leaves the plant as glued laminated timber or finger-jointed construction timber. The trees are first measured, sorted, debarked, cut and dried before they are processed into glulam boards or solid wood beams, planed, bundled and packaged. Joachim Hoffman, responsible for Sales & Marketing at Ladenburger, explains to the marking professionals how this is done.
The audience also learns about the technology of the REA JET product line and the special trick used to mark each board and each timber individually and reliably - with the place, date and time of production, product name, CE marking and DIN standard to which it conforms. A system from REA LABEL is used for the fully automatic labeling of the bundled and foil-wrapped boards. How it marks not only the side of the packages, but also their front - this and much more can be seen in the latest strip in the video series.
In the meantime, Wege and Debusmann are on the road again to other interesting marking applications and solutions - and if everything goes according to plan, the next video in the "REA Marking Professionals on Site" series will go online on the REA website on September 15.
