From roof battens to polystyrene boards and from sewage pipes to adhesives: In the building materials industry, products in every conceivable material, shape and size have to be marked.

Labeling systems often have to work fast and smoothly under difficult conditions with moisture, heat, cold, dust and contaminated surfaces. This robustness is also required of applied codes and labels, as building materials are often stored outdoors. When marking building materials, the requirements of the Construction Products Regulation EU 305/201 (CE marking) must also be observed. In many cases, the UFI code (Unique Form Identifier) and information in accordance with the REACH regulation for chemicals also have to be applied in order to clearly identify potentially dangerous ingredients.
