Mühltal, May 16, 2022 - "Quality is our A&O - our fabric saves lives." That's what Birgit Zauner, Head of Quality Management at UTT Technische Textilien GmbH & Co. in Krumbach, says about the "Marking Professionals" from REA Elektronik. Daniel Wege (Business Development Manager) and Frank Debusmann (Sales Director national coding and marking systems) went to see for themselves what kind of fabric it is, how it is made and, above all, how its quality is assured and documented. The resulting new video from the "Marking professionals on site" series has been online since today.
Wege sums it up: "You always have it with you and hope you never see it - the airbag." And if it does deploy, it should provide reliable protection. A single airbag? "There can be up to twelve or even more in modern cars," explains Zauner. The variety ranges from front, side and knee airbags to curtain airbags, which spread out over the side of the vehicle like a curtain. UTT also manufactures textiles for parachutes, but is primarily regarded as a pioneer and trailblazer in the development of airbag fabrics.
Reliable marking of a "not very simple fabric"
The marking professionals find it exciting to see how the fabric is finished after production for the individual function of various airbags and how its quality is ensured. And above all, they take a closer look at how serialized marking can be used to find out everything necessary about the fabric in the shortest possible time if required: Which yarn it was produced from and when, with which process steps, right down to who operated the machine. How UTT reliably and permanently applies all this information to the "not very simple fabric" (Debusmann) in a clearly readable manner and why the company chose REA JET as its technology partner - all this can be found in the latest strip from the marking professionals.
Now that the marking professionals can go on tour again, the series can continue. And if all goes according to plan, another "REA Marking Professionals on Site" video will go online on the REA website on June 15. So fans of the series and anyone who is professionally involved in industrial coding and marking can look forward to seeing what it's all about then.
