DURABLE LABELING OF RUBBER
Not all rubber is the same. This is why the rubber adhesives and label materials used have to be matched to the respective rubber compound to ensure that the labeling adheres well. Perfectly readable and durable labels are required, for example, for the mandatory EU tire label in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2020/740. Consumers can use this label to find out about the most important properties of tires, such as efficiency, rolling noise and grip on ice and snow.

This regulation defines the content and appearance of the EU tire label. Since May 2021, all tires have to bear this label. It provides information on tire parameters such as fuel efficiency, wet grip, noise development and tire performance in snow and ice. Truck tires also require a printed QR code that refers to the "European Product Registry for Energy Labeling" (EPREL) product database.
