Labels and tags on film packaging have to be applied fast in the packaging process, yet precisely in the defined position and with clearly readable markings. This is usually done fully automatically. Depending on the product to be labeled, the requirements for the labeling technology vary greatly. If product labels or barcode stickers are applied to food packaged in foil, for example, the labeling solutions and labels themselves have to be designed for the humid, cold or warm production conditions of the food industry. When labeling shrink-wrapped pallets, completely different aspects are important: these include, for example, the automation of complex logistics processes and the ergonomic relief of warehouse employees. This is why we have developed our fully automatic K-Label labeling system, a combination of industrial robot and label print and apply system that speeds up logistics processes.

Multilayer films or composite films usually consist of two to six layers of different materials. These can be different types of plastic, but also aluminum, copper, paper or textile materials. These foils are often used for food packaging and are particularly tear-resistant, temperature-resistant or protect against UV rays, among other things. Due to their material-specific surface properties, coding and marking solutions have to be precisely matched to the respective foil.
Monolaminates consist of only one type of plastic. These include, for example, polyethylene foils (PE foils) and polypropylene foils (PP foils). Monolaminates are generally easy to mark and, as single-origin plastics, are also very easy to recycle.
