Inkjet coding and marking solutions for plastic products
Industrial components, plant pots or food packaging: there are an infinite number of different plastic products that are printed with coding for traceability, quality assurance and consumer information. Our inkjet coding and marking systems ensure this reliably and effectively.
Versatile plastics, flexible inkjet solutions
MARKING PLASTICS INDIVIDUALLY
The composition of a plastic compound, the function and the expected stress on a plastic product are decisive for the requirements placed on the coding and marking solution. Inkjet technology is suitable for fast, clear marking of many plastic items with codes, logos and plain text of all kinds, for example for marking plant pots with the EU plant passport. If products made of polyethylene (PE) or high-density polyethylene (HDPE) are to be marked, we use especially suitable inks due to the ink-repellent surfaces of these types of plastic.
What is important for inkjet coding and marking solutions?
- Matching the properties of the respective type of plastic
- Reliable work under industrial production conditions
- Permanently durable, clearly readable markings, even on difficult surfaces
- Fast, simple and economical coding and marking technologies
- Suitability for serialization and Track & Trace
Industrial inkjet coding and marking solutions are used throughout the plastics processing industry. Many different components and products are marked. These include packaging materials such as foils, bags and rigid plastic packaging, construction materials such as pipes and profiles, and all types of molded parts. As integrated systems, our coding and marking systems are optimally adapted to the respective marking requirements and thus support quality standards in the plastics industry.
Application examples for plastic marking
- Component marking for traceability
- Coding of extruded PVC pipes for windows using a large character printer
- Marking of plastic pipes with company logos
- Multi-colored dot and line marking for type differentiation
- Application of position and location markings
- Direct marking of plant pots using an Inkjet Printer
- Best-before date on tubes using a small character inkjet system

The plant passport confirms that the goods comply with the phytosanitary regulations and that their traceability is ensured in the event of a pest infestation. The passport has to contain the botanical name of the plant species, the registration number of the operator, the traceability code, the country of origin, the flag of the European Union and the imprint "Pflanzenpassport/Plant Passport" in a clearly readable and permanently unalterable manner.
