Inkjet coding and marking solutions for electronic components
Without electronics in devices and machines, less and less functions in everyday life. To clearly identify these components, they need high-quality marking. Our inkjet coding and marking systems are designed for durable and optimally readable coding.
Direct Part Marketing (DPM) for traceability
SERIALIZED MARKINGS FOR THE ELECTRONICS INDUSTRY
Electronic components are printed directly with various codes and information (Direct Part Marketing - DPM). As a rule, the codes are used for unique identification and thus for traceability, quality assurance and counterfeit protection. Serialization is also used for device management: By recording the codes with unique serial numbers, returns, repairs and complaints can be handled easily. CE marking is mandatory for electronic components. With the CE mark, manufacturers confirm that the product has been verified and complies with EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements. Other coding standards for the electronics industry come from the organization EDIFICE (The Global Network for B2B Integration in High Tech Industries), among others.
What is important for inkjet coding and marking solutions?
- Often little space for complex coding
- Compliance with regulatory requirements
- Resistance to chemicals and heat
- Fast application in automated electronics production lines
- Generation of machine-readable codes, especially 2D Codes
Electronic components are often very small. High-resolution, very cleanly printed coding and marking systems are therefore required for easy machine-readable marking. In addition, the marking with type plates, serial numbers, batch numbers and other variable data has to be permanently durable so that electronic components can be traced throughout their entire product life. Chemical resistance is also important when marking printed circuit boards, as they are cleaned with organic solvents during the production process and the direct marking must not be attacked.
Industrial inkjet coding and marking solutions are used throughout the electronics industry. Many different electronic components made of plastics and metals are marked. They support the identification, tracking and management of components throughout the entire production, distribution and life cycle.
