Trainees proudly present their project work at the REA summer party
Apprentices in the Mechatronics department undergo a highly interesting apprenticeship at REA Elektronik. Exciting internal projects complement the wide range of topics covered by the training.
Trainees can get involved with enthusiasm and contribute their own ideas to everyday training. Take Roman Köbel and Marcel Theil, for example, both in their fourth year of training as mechatronics engineers. With great enthusiasm and ambition, they both implemented a challenging trainee project and proudly presented the results to the workforce at the REA summer party last Friday.
The task was as follows: an ink supply unit for coding and marking systems had to be combined with a linear motion devices, light barrier, converted print head and corresponding control system in such a way that the overall system could be used to pour alcoholic beverages with filling accuracy.
Roman and Marcel accepted the challenge and built a very special system, the so-called REAZZOTTI machine, under the supervision of their training supervisor Patrick Steinbrück and with the support of Nils Schäfer (CNC milling specialist). Instead of marking ink, a high-proof treat is filled and poured into glasses. In addition to the filling height selection of 2 cl or 4 cl, another special feature is that the REAZZOTTI machine recognizes whether a glass is under the converted print head or not. Nothing goes wrong here.
The two trainees completed their trainee project step by step, from project planning, design, material selection, production of the components, partly with the CNC-controlled milling machine, assembly, to installation and documentation, which was used at this year's summer party and caused a great deal of enthusiasm. Equipped with blue LEDs and a digital ticker display, the machine shone in the company colors and was a real eye-catcher at the party. According to confidential sources, the system was in use until the early hours of the morning.
Our young mechatronics engineers not only gained valuable experience in practical project work, but also learned to work in a team and to look beyond the "edge of the glass" with the full range of mechatronics engineering expertise.
We are particularly proud of the skills and results of our trainees! After successfully completing their training, nothing stands in the way of Roman and Marcel being taken on permanently at REA.
If you are also about to finish school, find the profession of mechatronics technician exciting and want to work in interesting, varied subject areas, then apply as a mechatronics technician (m/f) for the 2019 training year. We look forward to seeing you.
