Drop-on-demand printing technology (DOD)
The drop-on-demand (DOD) process is an innovative printing technology in which ink droplets are only dispensed when they are actually needed, ensuring precise and economical material usage. This technology, which stands out for its robustness and reliability, is particularly suitable for use in demanding industrial environments.
Drop-on-demand printers belong to the family of inkjet printers, also known as inkjet printers. The term "drop-on-demand" (DOD) means "drop on demand" and prints the operating principle of this process: the print nozzle only opens when a droplet of ink is actually required for the print image. This droplet then emerges and lands on the surface to be printed.
Drop-on-demand printing technology is considered to be particularly robust and reliable, making it ideal for use in demanding industrial environments. It often uses valve technology with microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) that control tiny valves. These valves open and close in a fraction of a second to release precisely metered droplets.
In practice, a print head with several valves moves across the printing surface. A pressure signal opens the valves to release the droplets. The droplet size and consistency are precisely controlled by the signal control.
The REA JET DOD 2.0 and REA JET DOD 1.X labeling models available from us offer reliability, quality and accuracy. Both printers are fast to install and easy to use.
Large, clearly readable markings, on-demand ink consumption and use under extreme environmental conditions - that's what our REA JET DOD 2.0 large character printing systems are all about.
Absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces can be easily marked with texts, data or logos using individually controllable nozzles up to a font height of 140 mm per print head and a speed potential of up to 600 m/min. If larger lettering is required, the print heads can be combined.
Dust, moisture, heat or cold are no problem; they tolerate vibrations and temperature fluctuations from minus 5° to plus 45° C. Thanks to their modular design and intuitive operation, the inkjet printers are highly flexible.
The REA JET DOD 1.X is a long-established large character inkjet printer and the basic model in the range, designed especially for rough industrial environments.
It produces large print images with a print height of up to 140 mm per print head, whereby multiple print heads can be combined for even larger print images. The printer impresses with reliable printing on absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces. Thanks to its modular design, the REA JET DOD 1.X can be flexibly adapted to different requirements.
