Verify code quality on food products
Only when codes and markings are clearly readable and correct in terms of content can it be guaranteed that foodstuffs can be delivered in compliance with standards, safely for consumers and without logistics mishaps. This is why code verification is a crucial part of industrial food production.

RELIABLE CODE VERIFICATION FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY
The traceability of food plays a major role in consumer protection and logistics. Trace & Trace applications require codes and information such as serial numbers, batch designations and proof of origin on the food directly or on its secondary packaging. The exact information required is defined in German and European food safety regulations, such as the Food Information Regulation (LMIV / EU No. 1169/2011) and the German Lot Labeling Ordinance (LKV). The conformity to standards and readability of the markings are checked in a code verification process using especially designed test systems and verifiers. Fully integrated systems for the food industry perform weighing, marking and checking in a single process.

The EU Regulation LMIV / EU No. 1169/2011 regulates which information must be provided on food packaging. This includes the name of the food, list of ingredients, best before date, net quantity, allergen labeling, origin labeling, nutrition labeling, alcohol content and other food-specific information.
In the Lot Marking Ordinance (LKV), the Federal Ministry of Health has stipulated that only foodstuffs marked with a lot number consisting of letters, numbers or letters and numbers may be put into circulation in Germany. This allows them to be clearly assigned to a production batch.
