What is tire marking?
Clearly marking tires and their pre-products
Tire marking includes all markings that are applied to tires and their pre-products during the production process. The aim of tire marking is the complete traceability of semi-finished and finished products. It is important for the tire and rubber industry that tire marking is automated and that the tire marking systems are integrated into digital production via suitable interfaces.
Permanent abrasion-resistant tire markings are required for
- Car tires / passenger car tires
- Motorcycle tires
- Truck tires
- Tires for tractors and agricultural vehicles
- Special tires for forklifts, caterpillars and industrial vehicles
- Bicycle tires
Tire marking with inkjet systems
Special inks for marking tires
Inkjet systems with inks especially developed for the rubber industry are predominantly used for marking tires, treads and raw rubber skins. These adhere particularly well to rubber without contaminating the vulcanization moulds. In addition, particularly durable tire markings can be applied using laser marking, for example 2D Codes. Tire labels and labels such as the EU tire label are printed and applied using automated labeling systems.
