REA Trainee Event 2020
As every year, our trainee event took place again this August. Not only us "newcomers", but also the trainees from the higher training years got together for a nice day of getting to know each other.
This time, due to the corona restrictions, we went out into the fresh air, to be precise to Bensheim-Auerbach on the beautiful Hessian Bergstrasse.
The meeting point was the train station in Auerbach. From there, we hiked through forests and vineyards in summer temperatures of over 30°C with our training manager Mr. Schweizer. Our destination: one of the most popular excursion locations on the Bergstrasse, the "Kirchberghäuschen" in Bensheim.
Once we arrived there, we enjoyed a hearty lunch and, in keeping with the weather, filled up on fluids.
The Kirchberghäuschen is located on the summit of Bensheim's Kirchberg. It was inaugurated in 1857 as a "Lusthaus". Since its completion, the Kirchberghäuschen has been one of Bensheim's most popular excursion destinations and a landmark of the town, which is listed as a cultural monument.
After the arduous ascent and a relaxing break at the Kirchberghäuschen, it was already downhill again. We grabbed an ice cream on the way and then headed back to the train station in Auerbach.
The trip was a great opportunity to get to know each other better, regardless of whether it was about private matters or our new workplace. We are already looking forward to next year's trainee event.
