Direct marking with REA JET makes rubber parts and tires unique
Muehltal, January 11th, 2018 – Direct coding makes semi-finished and finished products clearly identifiable. That optimizes production and logistics and allows for counterfeit protection. At the Tire Technology Expo 2018, REA JET will be presenting innovative and proven inkjet and laser marking systems which make every part unique.
For years, the rubber processing industry has been relying on the market leading REA JET large character technology when it comes to contact-free inkjet marking. From raw rubber felts to treads and finished tires – in harsh production environments, robust and reliably working marking systems are essential. At the Tire Technology Expo, REA JET will be demonstrating the new generation of large character inkjet printing systems: REA JET DOD 2.0. Latest production processes and new materials for less wear significantly extend operating cycles of the new silver print heads. They make the robust printing system of the IP 65 protection class even more resistant.
The new control unit can be operated in rough production environments by pressing the push-turn jog-dial knob even with gloves, or alternatively by using a touch display. Further, the integrated web server allows for an operation via tablet or smartphone. If required, the system can be integrated into the company's existing IT infrastructure - for synchronized processes in reference to Industry 4.0.
Favorable, low maintenance, environmentally friendly
REA provides special inks for almost all formulations. The REA JET RPS coding and marking system (Rubber Printing System) marks rubber reliably at all stages of the tire production. All that is realized environmentally friendly using water based inks at low maintenance expenses. Moreover, the system allows for an easy and fast data exchange. Markings are applied directly and contact-free onto the rubber surface. Thanks to a unique identification (Track & Trace) of each product, the degree of automation and production capability can be increased. At the same time, identification and global traceability is assured. If required, markings can either disappear during the vulcanization process or captively bond with the rubber.
Visitors of Tire Technology Expo will also experience the REA JET RPS marking system in other applications: When data information has to be captured in the smallest of spaces, the REA JET thermal inkjet printers of the HR series with HP cartridge technology set standards. At the REA booth, rubber pieces will be marked with logos, machine-readable barcodes and 2D codes. REA will also demonstrate laser systems to captively mark rubber material. As with REA JET ink jet systems, the laser systems are virtually maintenance-free and additionally provide benefits of consumable-free operation. Laser marking is first choice when permanent, captive marking onto finished tires is required. To ensure highest quality of their machine-readable barcodes and 2D codes, machine builders rely on the REA VERIFIER code verification systems which complement the portfolio of coding and marking solutions for the rubber processing industry from REA JET.
